ARE WE THERE YET?
As kids on a vacation trip we were always bugging our parents from the back seat, “Are we there yet?” They usually told us we were almost there to calm us down and shut us up. I think that this is like life. We think we’re on some grand mission. We have a general idea of where we are headed and what we want when we get there. We think this place exists because we hear about others who say they have arrived. Few of us have actually ever met anyone personally who has arrived. Nevertheless, we trust that the stories we hear are true, so we stay “on the bus” hoping we will get there. However, we don’t ever feel like we arrive. We’re almost there. We’ve now become so invested in our stories of the journey, we can’t admit we got on the wrong bus and destination.
The road can be rough, our fellow companions can be horrible, yet we stay on the bus like the kids with no choices in the back seat of the family car. This is the plight of most everyone, because we have been brainwashed into thinking that missions and purposes and fulfillment are over there somewhere. We even have cliché’s for it, like “the grass is always greener over there”. I like Erma Bombeck’s “The Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank”. Her book title is much more realistic.
Reality – what a concept! In reality, there is no there there! Everything is here now. Mind missions are a journey to no-where because we are now-here. It would be like a fish saying it needs to go on a mission to find water. Now we know that is ridiculous, but we do the same thing and call it intelligence. Jesus said “The Kingdom of Heaven is within you.” What do you think he was talking about? Like with the fish, water is In you and you are In the water. It isn’t a physical place. It is awareness of the Truth.
As kids we missed the whole journey because we were only focused on getting to the destination. Five hours of now moments were squandered on anxious unconscious moments that spoiled the possibilities of fun and connection with family or friends. But we do the same thing when we lose sight of the present moment and focus on past issues or future events.
Because we can only think of one thing at a time, we are out of reality whenever we let our thoughts take over to think about our past or our future. 99% of the time we will assume that the future is going to be just like the past. In doing this we go unconscious to the world of possibilities that exist in the powerful present moment. We have NO power in the past or future…only in the Present. Think about it.
To insure you are in the present and not tangled up the past or future, simply breathe. You can’t breathe in the past or future – only NOW. We don’t have to think in order to breathe either. And thank goodness for that. If we did, we wouldn’t be here long. To be present now, all you need to do is to take conscious control of your thinking mind and make it focus on your breath and nothing else. Breathe from your belly like a baby, and do it for several minutes. Most people breathe from the upper chest, which keeps them anxious and off center. .
When you do breathe consciously your heart and your brain become synchronized and they gently flow in a rhythmic pattern that calms all your cells and organs in your body. How do you feel? Calm and clear and centered. This is our natural state of being. This is the only destination. Every other mission our thoughts send us on is a fabrication that wants us stuck in the anxious dramas of past or future. The mind is constantly yelling, “Are we there yet!?”
Now all you have to do is lean over the front seat and calmly say, “Breathe”.

There are several “heavenly” events happening this August, along with “planetary” events affecting everyone physically, emotionally and spiritually.
1. 8/1/08 Total Solar Eclipse visible over China, Siberia & Mongolia.
2. 8/16/08 – Lunar Eclipse visible in mostly in Africa and Europe
3. 8/8/08 Olympic Games opening in Beijing, China.
4. 8-25 to 8/28-08 Democratic Convention – Denver
Total solar eclipses are rare events. Although they occur somewhere on Earth every 18 months on average, it has been estimated that they only recur at any given place once every 370 years! So most people who experience a total eclipse will only be able to do so once in a lifetime. Some may never see one. The total eclipse only lasts for approximately 2 -3 minutes at each location.
For comparison, the longest eclipse of the entire 21st century will occur on July 22, 2009 and last 6 min 39 sec. It will also only be visible over China and parts of India. The next total solar eclipse visible within the United States will happen on August 21, 2017 and April 8, 2024. The last total eclipse over North America was February 26, 1979.
From earliest recorded history, signs in the cosmos have always had dynamic symbolic meaning. The Sun is the source our life on Earth It represents our conscious mind, our identity in the world and light on our planet. It has been the symbol for the Divine Creator also. It is considered male or Yang in its energy. It can be a symbol of one’s own Soul light/fire.
The Moon represents the night, the unconscious and subconscious mind, our inner shadow or dark side. It is passive in nature, receiving and magnetically controlling the flow of water on Earth. It is considered feminine or Yin in its energy. In human terms we equate water with emotions and therefore the Moon may influence our moods.
In a Solar Eclipse the passive, reflective New Moon totally dark and invisible from Earth moves in front of the Sun in precisely the right angle so as to block out the full Sun, except for the Sun’s mysterious “corona” or perimeter.
Symbolically, our intuitional (and maybe irrational) dark Moon nature is blocking the light of the visible creative Sun light nature. We can examine our own lives and see if we are allowing our dark shadow side to eclipse our light, and disowning parts of ourselves. The timing couldn’t be more perfect for this cosmic laden lesson, which applies to groups and nations as well as individuals. The Eclipse is meant to jump start our awareness to help us clear what doesn’t work and infuse the planet with light energy to magnetically write a new program.
August 8, 2008, the exact mid-point between the Solar Eclipse and the Lunar Eclipse, adds up to the total number eight. (8 + 8 + 2008 = 2+6 = 
This is also highly unusual. According to numerology, each number and combination of numbers carries an energetic signature unique to that number. In general, the number 8 is a powerful number and signifies “abundant prosperity and success in all endeavors”. The Chinese culture continues to practice numerology for insights on how to be in harmony with life energy, (or Qi, pronounced Chi) which flows in and through everything in the universe. China planned the Olympic Games to open on 8-8-08 for this reason.
August, the eighth month, is under the astrological sign of Leo the Lion, which is a symbol of fearless leadership and power. To have the Lion-hearted all powerful Sun eclipsed by the lesser more receptive feminine Moon over an emerging powerful nation like China as it hosts its first Olympic Games is indeed auspicious and interesting to consider. Leo also represents fearless creative self expression in a spirit of joyfulness and celebration. How perfect for the Olympics, but also for all of us.
The final major event scheduled is the Democratic Convention in Denver from August 25th through August 28th. The nominated candidate will give his acceptance speech on the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech on August 28, 1963. That speech spoke of monumental changes in the consciousness of America, which we now see manifesting.

Do you think that all of these unique events on Earth and in Heaven are a coincidence? Each of them carries powerful Solar energy to effect enormous changes in the months and years ahead. Being aware of the signs of the times and the patterns of power they reveal can make all the difference.
WHAT WOULD JESUS DO – Part 2 August 10, 2008

Even though Jesus was an extraordinary Master, Rabbi, and Prophet, it is still important to look at his life and his teachings in light of the culture in which he was living. What he said and did was intrinsically linked to what was going on in Palestine in his day.
It is no different today. We just had the priviledge of HBO’s John Adams series which shed so much light on the real men and women who forged this nation out of a colony of Great Britain. Their decisions and political beliefs were forged by the oppressive culture of England in the 17th Century. They suffered under taxation without representation. They had fled an elitist society to find freedom from the burden of a class system determined by birth, which still exists today.
Jesus’ day was similar in many ways to our country in those early days. His people, the Jews, were also unfairly taxed by Rome without representation, and it was an extremely strict class system. The classes couldn’t intermingle at all. If you dined with someone like a tax collector you would lose any of your priveledged status in the community. Everything was based on status and rank of importance.
Just like in our society, keeping up with the Joneses was an obsession for many. People lusted for status and coveted it almost more than friendship. There were no safety nets in their society, so if you had no status and no money, you were a beggar on the streets. These are the people Jesus ran around with and taught his message of the Kindgdom of Heaven.
Rich folk came to him in the dark of night to learn what he was about. They couldn’t risk being seen with him because he had no status and ran around with prostitutes and tax collectors. He even touched lepers!
What we would think of Jesus today? He wouldn’t want to socialize with anyone who was somebody. He would be with the down-in-outers wherever he went. If you spoke against them to him, you probably wouldn’t be accepted into his band of followers. His love and compassion for the poor and un-classed (unclean) was phenomenal. He was the ONLY rabbi teaching and comingling with the outcasts and lower rungs of society.
Christianity today is so completely out of touch with Christ it is ridiculous to call it Christianity. The fundamentalists are more like the Pharisees and high priests or Jesus’ day…the ones he called white sepelchures full of dead men’s bones. They would rather see a person die than break a religious rule. They have convinced themselves that Christ would be a military general and wage war to prevent war. They are just as patriarchal as the fundamentalist Muslims. Women and their civil rights are denegrated and pushed back 100 years in their status as an equal human being. Women are taught only men have rights and they are to be submissive them.
Jesus, on the other hand, elevated women to be equal with the men. In fact, Mary Magdelene was so close to Jesus that he taught her mysteries that he didn’t share with the male diciples. This angered the men and they chose to banish her, smear her reputation as a fellow apostle reducing her to prostitute. The new Christians of the 21st century are doing the same. What would Jesus do if he returned today? Only the few would even know he was here. Everyone else is too busy doing the opposite to even notice.
